- 12 ounces fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup bourbon
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/4 cup water
- Combine all ingredients in a heavy-bottomed saucepan.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until cranberries have burst and the sauce has thickened slightly.
- Remove from heat and let cool completely. The sauce will thicken as it cools.
- Taste and adjust sweetness/tartness as needed with additional honey or orange juice. For the most intense flavor, infuse overnight in refrigerator.
