  • 4 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Light Corn Syrup
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon Peppermint Extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • Red Food Coloring (optional)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the powdered sugar, corn syrup, softened butter, peppermint extract, vanilla extract, and salt.
  • If using, add a few drops of red food coloring until you reach your desired shade of pink.
  • Mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Taste the dough and adjust the peppermint extract to your liking.
  • Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight.
  • After chilling, roll the dough out on a lightly powdered sugar-dusted surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  • Use cookie cutters to cut out festive shapes.
  • Decorate with crushed peppermint candies, sprinkles, or edible glitter, if desired.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
