- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
- 3/4 cup cold buttermilk
- 1 pound cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8 ounces lump crab meat, picked clean
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
- 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese, plus more for topping
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Diced tomatoes
- Sliced jalapeños
- Black olives
- Avocado or guacamole
- Sour cream or Greek yogurt
- Salsa
- Chopped cilantro
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add the cold buttermilk, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently pat it into a 1-inch thick rectangle.
- Use a 2-inch biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Gently fold in the cooked shrimp, lump crab meat, green onions, Old Bay seasoning, and cheddar cheese.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Once the biscuits are slightly cooled, slice them in half horizontally.
- Spoon a generous amount of the shrimp and crab mixture onto each biscuit half.
- Top with extra shredded cheddar cheese and your favorite nacho toppings.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Or broil for 2-3 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
