  • 3/4 cup cold buttermilk
  • 1 pound cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 ounces lump crab meat, picked clean
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese, plus more for topping
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Sliced jalapeños
  • Black olives
  • Avocado or guacamole
  • Sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • Salsa
  • Chopped cilantro

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Gradually add the cold buttermilk, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently pat it into a 1-inch thick rectangle.
  • Use a 2-inch biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  • Gently fold in the cooked shrimp, lump crab meat, green onions, Old Bay seasoning, and cheddar cheese.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Once the biscuits are slightly cooled, slice them in half horizontally.
  • Spoon a generous amount of the shrimp and crab mixture onto each biscuit half.
  • Top with extra shredded cheddar cheese and your favorite nacho toppings.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Or broil for 2-3 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
