Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 pound dried penne or rotini pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 4-5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Season steak pieces with salt, pepper, and 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over high heat. Sear the steak in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove steak from pan and set aside.
  • Add butter and minced garlic to the same pan. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan (deglaze the pan).
  • Add the pasta, remaining Cajun seasoning, and honey to the pan. Stir to combine.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 12-15 minutes, or until the pasta is cooked al dente and most of the liquid is absorbed. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and seared steak. Simmer for a few more minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust spice level by adding more Cajun seasoning if desired.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions before serving.
