  • 1/4 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups Granulated Sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup Buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons Red Food Coloring (gel)
  • 1 cup White Chocolate Chips

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract and red food coloring.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  • Stir in the white chocolate chips.
  • Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (or overnight).
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving some space between each cookie.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are still slightly soft.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Dust with powdered sugar, if desired, and serve.
