  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, freshly minced
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Garlic powder (optional)
  • Olive oil (optional)

Instructions

  • Blanch the green beans in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, then immediately plunge them into an ice bath. Drain well.
  • Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  • Add the blanched green beans to the skillet and toss to coat with the butter and garlic.
  • Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the green beans are tender-crisp.
  • Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed. Serve immediately.
